Hi there Stacey,
I just found out that my brother is getting married in September of this year, and I am going to be the "best lady!" The sad part in all of this is that I have to wear a dress. I have not worn a dress in 15 years! My issue: I have ankles that are unfortunately the same size as my calves. What is the best way to camouflage them? Should I just go with a long style? My height is about 5"4 or 5"5 on a good day!
Thank you so much for you help!

First of all, just take a deep breath. Wearing a dress is nothing to be scared of! A great dress will actually empower you and make you feel beautiful inside and out. Luckily for you, this season maxi-dresses are all the rage. The floor-skimming hems serve to elongate shorter bodies and actually make you look taller, all the while hiding imperfections of the leg.
I hope you wear heels- a peep-toe slingback or wedge will add a few essential inches to your look. Shop with care for shoes, however, and make sure you avoid ankle straps or other details across the foot that would interrupt the visual line we are creating. Can't do heels? Fancy flats should work with a full-length gown that will be maxi-length on you!
Here are four maxi & full length dresses that would be perfect for your role as "best lady"

Now you can rest easy knowing your calves will be covered, but your gorgeous curvy body will be celebrated. Have fun,
Stacey
I highly recommend zappos.com if you are looking for shoes. You can put in your criteria
(heel height, size, etc.) and get a list of shoes which match. Their shipping and return policies are great, too.
I am not affiliated with Zappos, just a happy customer. Find a nice mid-heel slingback pump and have
fun in your pretty Igigi dress!
