SPRING PLUS-SIZE DRESS TREND: Black & White!

Posted by on March 5, 2014

One of the easiest trends to wear right off the runway this Spring is the easy mix of Black and White.

While it is simple to find separates already sitting in your closet, we’d like to suggest a refresh: Our Deora Plus-Size Dress!

Transitioning from Winter to Spring in the IGIGI Chelsea Plus-Size Dress in Ombre Floral

Posted by on February 10, 2014

Since it seems like the dreaded “polar vortex” (which would be the best frappuccino name ever, by the way) will seemingly never end here in Chicago, I find myself looking for brighter prints to spruce up my wardrobe and cut through the cold, snowy weather. While browsing the IGIGI site, I came across the beautifully vibrant IGIGI Chelsea Plus-Size Dress in Ombre Floral and I knew that the awesome “sixties flower child” vibe that this dress gives off was just what I was looking for.

The ombre effect of the pattern on the IGIGI Chelsea Plus-Size Dress in Ombre Floral simply means that the color tones on the dress shade into each other and the color is graduated from light to dark. The placement of the ombre shading on the dress starts right under the bust and then goes down several inches, blending to the top of your hips to minimize the smallest part of your body.

The Chelsea Plus-Size Dress in Ombre Floral has an ultra flattering a-line skirt and it is fully lined, like most IGIGI garments, so you don’t have to worry about any panty-lines peeking through.

Colorblocking: A Plus-Size Dress Trend for All Seasons

Posted by on February 5, 2014

The colorblocking trend is still in full force and I am thrilled about it. Colorblocking is one of those trends that anyone can pull off easily and, if you pick colors that are subtle enough, you can wear colorblocked pieces well past their “prime” trendy season, because they can function as an alternate pattern style. Any trend or pattern that’s strong enough to wear from season to season is one that I can get behind.

I recently checked out the IGIGI Evey Plus-Size Colorblock Dress in Black/Royal (for more info, check out the blog post about plus-size colorblocking tips) and was really impressed with how IGIGI mastered the colorblocking trend with their garments, so when the IGIGI Carissima Plus-Size Dress in Malbec went on sale, I quickly snatched it up to capitalize off the similar look and the great price.

The asymmetrical cut of the dress is incredibly flattering and stretches across the body giving some instant slimming power to the waist and hips. The IGIGI Carissima Plus-Size Dress in Malbec has a pretty standard cut, which makes it perfect for the office since it has a higher neckline and a slightly longer hemline. However, the asymmetry and the colorblocking makes it trendy and flattering, giving it that special oomph factor while emphasizing your curves.

The IGIGI Carissima Plus-Size Dress in Malbec is fully-lined like most IGIGI dresses, so you don’t have to worry about wearing a slip underneath.

Get Gorgeous with Plus-Size Valentine’s Day Looks from IGIGI

Posted by on January 29, 2014

With Valentine’s Day rapidly approaching, many plus-size women are filling up their online shopping carts with sexy red dresses and flirty pink skirts so they can get ready for special dinners out with their significant other. Thank goodness that IGIGI makes plus-size Valentine’s Day looks so easy with their handy Valentine’s Day shop. The amazing staff at IGIGI curated a selection of dresses, tops, jewelry, clutches, and other accessories to help you shine on Valentine’s Day. (The IGIGI Elena Clutch in Pearl is especially lustworthy!)

For Valentine’s Day, you can go totally sexy and glamorous with the IGIGI Rachelle Plus-Size Lace Dress in Black/Rouge, or you can do a slightly more unconventional Valentine’s Day look and go with the IGIGI Neve Plus-Size Wrap Dress in Creme De Violette. I ordered the IGIGI Ambrosia Plus-Size Dress in Red for my Valentine’s Day look and I was amazed by how fabulous it looked on. There was some major Jessica Rabbit vibe-age going on.

The IGIGI Ambrosia Plus-Size Dress in Red is fully-lined (like most of IGIGI’s awesome, high quality garments) to prevent any unsightly cling.

A Very Special Plus-Size Little Black Dress

Posted by on January 27, 2014

So, it’s freezing outside. Actually, literally freezing. In Chicago this week we hit record low temperatures, with the forecast dropping to negative 18 degrees before the wind chill. On the bright side, however, it’s been deceptively sunny. So when I stepped outside to take these pictures I got to soak up some much needed vitamin D. Luckily, the IGIGI Genevieve Plus-Size Dress pairs well with my leather jacket and it gave me some protection from the icy air when I wore it out to dinner with friends.

The IGIGI Genevieve Plus-Size Dress is a really stretchy jersey material, so it has good natural cling and it is incredibly comfortable, especially for a cocktail dress.

The IGIGI Genevieve Plus-Size Dress (which is on super sale right now!) is a faux wrap dress with gorgeous sequin details to add some sparkle to this fantastic little black dress. It’s quite curve hugging as well and there is strategic ruching on the sides to camouflage any problem areas.
