"For the perfect holiday dress, you want something special, glitzy, memorable, and that you feel fabulous in. Enter the Amaryllis.
It looks to be dusky purple with raspberry sequins in photos, but like it says in the description, it’s a mocha brown dress with a black mesh overlay. The sequins are more cranberry than pink. It also comes with a cranberry satin sash.
The neckline was not so low that it showed my bra. I didn’t need a cami, but raspberry, red, and black paired nicely, and I noticed that the cami and accessories you pair with the dress can make it look more purple, black, or brown and the sequins more red or pink.
I have a tummy, so the weight of the sequins made the dress hang close to my body and cling. The waist was also very high and accentuated my midsection. The sash helped cut more of a figure, accentuating the waist. I also love the elbow length sleeves because it means a dress I can wear as-is, no cardigan or wrap necessary.
I wore it to a formal dinner and again to a Christmas party, and I’ll definitely wear it for future special occasions. Now that I’ve worn it twice, I definitely notice how great I feel in it more than its less than perfect fit.
"IGIGI's dresses are often bold and sexy, but I found this dress to be a bit sweeter. I bought it for myself for my 27th birthday to wear out on the town to celebrate. When the dress arrived, I was pleased to see that it looks exactly as it does in the picture. It is very romantic and pretty with styling features that give it a fabulous fit.
Like most IGIGI dresses, the length is a little long, mid-calf on my 5'4" frame. I tried the dress with both flats and heels, and despite the longer length, I find that it pairs well with both. The neckline is very flattering, and while perhaps too low-cut for the office, it's perfect for evening/weekend wear. The fabric is surprisingly light, airy, and comfortable in the Georgia heat. I also love the coverage provided by the elbow-length sleeves; they balance out the wide square neckline.
While the dress has a side zipper, I didn't need to use it. The fit is a little loose, and the skirt skims over my bumps and tummy and gives a beautiful hourglass shape. I've noticed several other IGIGI dresses in the same style but in different prints/colors, and after buying the Jocelyn, I would definitely consider purchasing the similar styles."
"The Naomi Gown is one of those rare feel-good dresses that makes you feel instantly special and glamorous when you put it on. Because it's so formal, it's not something I can see wearing often, but it has a timeless quality that will make it wearable through the years.
The fabric and design are of the highest quality, something my seamstress commented on when she shortened the dress for me. I'll reiterate the other reviews that comment on the super long length of IGIGI's full-length dresses. At 5'4" with 4" inch heels, I still had to have the dress shortened a few inches. The bust is also low-cut, which is fine for some occasions depending on your comfort level, but I wanted something with a bit more coverage.
Therefore, I also had my seamstress tack the bust. This might seem like a lot of expensive alternations for an already expensive dress, but there's nothing like this piece in my closet, and it's nice to know I have the perfect dress for any formal occasion.
If you can stomach the cost to have a one-of-a-kind gown, invest in one of IGIGI's evening gowns. The Naomi Gown stops passersby in their tracks and earns countless complements with each wearing. "
"I ordered this dress because I wanted something out of my norm, something curve-hugging with glamazon written all over it. From the photos, I was concerned that it might look too sparkly or wet, but it’s a nice matte navy with gold flecks that catch the light beautifully. It’s not too glitzy or shiny at all.
While many of IGIGI's dresses run large, this one runs small. I ordered my usual 14/16, which is the right size, but it’s a body-con fit. It has a fair amount of stretch, and the fabric has a nice thickness and weight to it, so it's not overly clingy or tight, but it’s not going to mask lumps and bumps like an a-line skirt.
The ruching does do a good job of slimming you from the front and the sides, though. The boat neck isn't so wide that my bra straps show, and the neck stays put unlike other boat necks that need constant adjusting. While the belt looks a little cheap on its own, it’s the perfect accent piece. It cinches the waist and cuts a shapely figure. But without it, the dress looks like it's missing something.
Sultry, sexy, and fierce, this is a show-stopper. It will take you from a hot date, to cocktails with your girlfriends, to a night out at the club. "
"This dress is one of my favorites from IGIGI. The colors are even more vibrant and varied in real life. I found this dress to run a bit larger around the midsection than other IGIGI styles, so if you’re between sizes, I’d size down. While I belt many of my other IGIGI dresses, the black empire waistband on this one draws the eye in and creates a nice hourglass figure, so a belt isn’t really necessary. For different styling options, however, I will be trying the dress with some belts and sashes of various colors anyways. The neckline is a bit wide, so be mindful of your bra straps in this dress. At 5’4?, the length hits me mid-calf and looks a bit frumpy with flats, but a pair of heels worked perfectly. It’s also worth noting that I was concerned about the white fabric. I worried it might be too delicate or stain or snag easily, but it’s a perfectly wearable, stretchy knit. This dress is such a statement piece on its own that it’s going to be a bit tricky to remix. But that’s what I love to do, so it should be fun coming up with ways to style this dress!"
