Vintage look with modern sparkle!

Another dress I tried on had to have, it was so perfect on me! The flutter sleeves have a Teens-era (think Titanic movie) feel to them, as does the general cut of the dress. As others have said, the dress does come with a separate sash. I wouldn't call it a shawl -- it's only a foot wide! The dress looks lovely without the sash, with the black waistband showing. Or if you want, you can wear the sash. I will probably wear it without, because I liked it that way. Coincidentally, I have a different dress with this fabric from Igigi, and that *does* have a shawl in this blue material, so I may use that sometime.So, so echo other reviews, yes, the flutter sleeves hide any arm issues you have. The skirt is one of the fuller ones, so it hides a lot, too. It's also got a more modest neckline, but it's still a little sexy. :-) When I put the dress on, it hit just at the tops of my bare feet and just grazing the floor; I am 5'7", so if you're shorter than that, this dress is going to need heels or be too long for you without being taken up.It's the sort of dress that makes you want to twirl around! I'm going to wear it to the Hugo Awards at the World Science Fiction Convention (Worldcon) this summer. Oh! It's also really light feeling, so I bet it will be fine in warm weather!

Comfortable

I didn't notice that size is by bust measurment, so its a little bit wide at the chest. No problem wearing it, though. Very comfortabel, easy to put on and off, and wrinkle-free, I think. Quite shiny and sparkly, very good for a new year party or wedding. I like the black waist band and will have to find other use for the sash.

deceiving

As with a customer above, the picture indicates the belt is same color as dress but it comes with a spandex waist and when I try to put the sash over the "waist", the black shows above. Got for a wedding and the tailor wants $130 to make it "right" for me. I'm a 16WP in most stores but ordered a 12. It is huge, long, (by 7" and I'm 5'2"), needs shoulders lifted up, seams run down the sides.... I love your company but the picture should be what the dress looks like before one fixes it. Less dressy than the picture indicates.

Loved this dress

I purchased this dress to wear to the 25th Annual Genesis Awards being aired on animal planet spring of 2011. It fit perfectly and I received compliments all night, from perfect strangers, on how beautiful it was. It made me feel like I was one of the celebrities. I will be back to you for my next purchase and I will recommend you to everyone. Thank you IGIGI.

I felt like a fairy princess

Too bad this one is being discontinued. I thought it was true to size. It fit very nicely even over my ample Girls without being immodest (rare with empire waists), and the color is more gorgeous and flattering than the photo can show. The sash didn't do anything for me, but the dress looked more 'grown up' without it. The fluttery sleeves camouflage upper arms without looking like that's what they're doing. Now if I could just find a wand...
