great dress.
"this dress is wonderful... it runs a little big. so alterations will help to get the full effects of the gown. It hugs all the curves and hide the dummy perfectly with the front gathers. The only small problem is the pale grey color... not sure if it came in other colors .... should have been ligher to make it more silver than grey ." Posted: Oct 17, 2010

"I ordered this dress in Merlot on a whim. I was ordering some other dresses, and since I knew I'd be returning some of them, I threw this one in to.OH MY.This dress is stunning. It looked gorgeous on the model, but I wasn't sure if it would stray into "mother of the bride" territory on someone less statuesque. I couldn't have been more wrong. This is even more beautiful in person.The fabric is luxurious (poly? luxurious? yes!) and hangs beautifully, the ruching is very flattering, the slit is sexy but still pretty modest (just above the knee), and the neckline is a little lower (at least on me), so you get to see a little collarbone. I often look barrel-chested in dresses without a deep neckline, but the proportions were just perfect.Most importantly, the shoulder detail is a lot more prominent in real life. In the photo, it looks like a teeny peek of shoulder with a bow. Oh no. This is a full, sexy-but-not-tarty cold shoulder, and the tie draws the eye there.My proportions are different from the size chart (I'm an "inbetweenie", so only my bum is fully in the plus size range), so I'm going to have to get it taken in at the waist, but it is absolutely worth it.Also: unless you are very tall, you will probably have to have it hemmed. When I got the package today I tried it immediately and I was sure I would have to return both dresses. Well, I was PLEASANTLY surprised. The dress fit perfectly and it was true to the size chart. The dress is very well made, elegant, and very flattering in the tummy area (which all moms would appreaciate). It is long, but I am only 5' 2", so I have plans to hem it.
